Quality in Commercial Printing
Quality control does not end in the digital prepress department. Once the press is made-ready, an initial run is performed and each job is checked and verified for the best possible end product. Smith-Edward-Dunlap enforces built-in quality redundancies from line-up, to copy check, to imposition. Experienced employees compare the digital proof to the printed product. Each piece is checked for overall color balance and clarity. At pre-determined points in the press room production process, products are pulled and checked again to ensure complete success and consistency in every job.

No matter the requirement of the job, Smith-Edwards-Dunlap can fill it with web offset printing, sheet fed printing, and large format printing. Offset printing is a common printing technique where the inked image is first transferred to a rubber blanket and then to the printed surface. Web offset printing relies on a web of paper, one continuous sheet for rapid production runs. Sheet fed printing uses single sheets that are fed into the machine one at a time. Large format printing is on the rise and employs high-tech Press Room equipment that is able to handle large format capacities. Since SED is a custom commercial printer, large format printing is invaluable to our company and the clients we serve.
