Smith-Edward-Dunlap offers cold web offset printing capabilities for jobs with the right specifications. As a leading commercial printing company in Philadelphia, Smith-Edwards-Dunlap houses multiple web offset printing presses that output products efficently and precisely. In web offset printing, paper is fed through the press as one continuous stream pulled from rolls of paper. Each roll of paper is “webbed” through the offset printing press and either sheeted or folded at delivery. Advantages of web offset printing include:
Web offset printing functions at very high speeds. Production does not have to stop when a roll of paper runs out. Rolls of paper can be spliced together automatically as the web press is running. Press operators never have to adjust the press controls when rolls are spliced together. For this reason, faulty products are avoided through the automation of offset press room equipment. Web offset printing is one of many press room processes implemented at Smith-Edwards-Dunlap. Because SED utilizes a variety of printing capabilities, we require each of our press operators to undergo training on every piece of press room equipment.
