Letterpress Capabilities Include:
Die-cutting Services. SED’s letterpress department provides superior custom die cutting services to give paper or other substrate products specific shape and design. Products die cut in our facility include pocket folders, invitations and brochures to name just a few. By utilizing custom created dies, our expert employees form a pattern or die that is an exact match to client design specifications. These patterns or designs add flare and functionality to printed products for overall appeal.

Scoring. Scoring at SED reduces stress to the paper, helps to prevent cracking and helps to create a smooth, strong fold. Prior to folding, we use forms locked up in the letterpress department to emboss a narrow ridge into the paper, which determines the location of the fold. Although commercial printing companies can use several different methods of scoring, letterpress scoring is best and helps assure that our clients’ products are of the highest quality.

Perforating. Smith-Edwards-Dunlap offers letterpress perforating as a higher quality alternative to litho perf.
